a Canadian software engineer with an undergraduate degree in computer science from University of Toronto, and computer chess programmer.
He is author of the UCI compliant open source chess engine Shallow Blue.
On his blog, Rhys Rustad-Elliott gave an excellent description of Magic Bitboards as used in Shallow Blue [2].
